Hello there & long time no see! As you can tell from my last post, I’ve taken the summer off as far as my blog postings go. A lot has happened in the last 3-4 months and I’d like to share a bit about that with you in this post. Once I get that out of the way, I will be getting back into the swing of sharing more regularly with you my many passions in life that include my faith, family, home life, health & wellness journey, love of creating…to name a few.
So, welcome & thank you for stopping by…I appreciate it!
To begin with, I wanted to share with you the primary reason I haven’t posted anything new here since May 2015. Probably the easiest way to do that is by re-posting here what I posted on my personal Facebook page back on July 1, 2015…
“This is one of those posts you never want to share, but I feel the need to be open & honest about what’s been going on in my life the last 2.5 months. Of course those closest to me already know…some more than others as I’ve always been extremely careful with who I share details with.
Today, July 1st, Mike & I were officially divorced. Please understand that this decision was not taken lightly. There have been hours, days, & even years of prayer involved. It has been THE toughest decision for me to make in my entire life.
Although we had many good years together, we also had many that were extremely difficult…24 years married to be exact.
I would ask that you be in prayer for us, our children, our families & friends because we are all hurting and trying to figure out how best to move forward for the sake of everyone involved.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to those that have stuck by our sides and given us the support we need during this most difficult time in our lives.”
That pretty much explains it in a nut shell. It’s been almost 2 months ago that I posted that, hard to believe. All in all, I am doing good. I have my sad & angry moments, but I try my best to move through them as quickly as possible and that is so much easier to do when your faith in God is strong…even when you think/feel it isn’t.
I’m so grateful what God has done in my life, especially in the last 12 years as I’ve grown as a Christian. I can’t even begin to imagine how much more difficult this all would be without Him by my side.
Now, just so you know, and those that follow me on Instagram & Facebook probably already do…there was a lot of good times this summer as well.
I was blessed & honored to be chosen to teach at the annual Close To My Heart Convention in California this past July…just a little over a week after my divorce was final. I had the most amazing time with my girlfriends, Cindy & Susie! You can check out my Instagram feed @reflectionsofmyartandsoul to see just how much fun we really had.
Well, I think that’s all I want to share about that!
I promise I will be back shortly with some fabulous new artwork using all new products from the latest Close To My Heart Idea Book going live September 1st…along with some new blog posts featuring more about my faith in God, family, friends, my health journey and a few new interests I have.
P.S. Here’s a little sneak peek of what I’ll be sharing tomorrow…
Until then, God bless & make it from your heart!
